The House Behind the Stories
Shutterfall Cinema is an independent production house in San Francisco. We develop, shoot and finish films and commercials with one obsession: work that stays with people long after the credits roll.
Built on set, finished in the dark room
Shutterfall began with a borrowed camera, a borrowed garage, and a stubborn belief: that a small crew with total commitment can out-shoot a big machine. A decade later the garage is a proper studio, but the method hasn't changed — small teams, long prep, and post-production treated as a second shoot, not an afterthought.
Today we run three crafts under one roof — narrative and documentary films, brand commercials, and dedicated sound design — so a project never loses its thread between departments.

How We Work
Concept to Final Cut
01 — Develop
Treatments, scripts, storyboards and budgets. We pressure-test the idea before a single frame is shot.
02 — Produce
Casting, locations, crew and shoot days run by producers who keep the set calm and the schedule honest.
03 — Finish
Edit, grade, sound design and mix in-house — the second shoot where good footage becomes a great film.
